2018 EU LCS Summer Split Predictions – Week 3

Posted on June 28, 2018

Get ready for week 3 of the EU LCS Summer Split 2018! The competition kicks off on June 29, and we’ve already prepared a number of betting tips for the upcoming matches. Strap yourselves in because things are about to get wild!

Team ROCCAT vs Giants Gaming

The third week of the EU LCS Summer Split 2018 begins with a match between two bottom-tier teams. Even so, ROCCAT are the clear-cut favorites. Their playstyle is very proactive, and they’ve gotten much better at enabling their ace, Memento. Of course, they can still stumble if they don’t make any ganks happen, but overall, they have a good grasp of laning, skirmishing, and splitpushing.

Meanwhile, Giants Gaming continuously fall into the trap of playing for the late game, which leaves them wide open for the slightest hints of early aggression. And sure, they have been experimenting with new picks. But at this point, it seems like Giants are grasping at straws instead of coming up with viable drafts. That’s not to say they couldn’t put up a fight in the late game, but we very much doubt ROCCAT are going to let them get to that point.

BETTING ADVICE: You can bet on Team ROCCAT taking the W for odds of 1.65 @Betspawn.

FC Schalke 04 vs Misfits

Okay, this is kind of a no-brainer. Schalke are a decent team, and they’ve been steadily climbing the EU LCS 2018 standings. We’ve already mentioned this before, but Amazing is a great addition to their roster, and his presence made this squad much more decisive in the mid game.

Even so, Schalke don’t stand a chance in face of the Misfits machine. Misfits thrive on aggression, and their players are early game specialists that know full well how to break open the laning phase. With that, things will be decided before Schalke can even get rolling.

BETTING ADVICE: Our EU LCS Summer Split predictions put Misfits miles ahead of Schalke, and most bookmakers seem to share this sentiment. Hence, you won’t find good odds for match winner bets in their favor. Still, you can bet on the game time being under 32 minutes for odds of 1.82 @ArcaneBet, which is a very lucrative offer for this matchup.

H2K vs Splyce

This is a bit more interesting. The EU LCS Summer Split 2018 hasn’t been kind to these teams, as both H2K and Splyce have been struggling to stand up to the competition. H2K have always suffered from a lack of firepower, but the hyperaggressive meta made them even more vulnerable in the early game.

But Splyce are also not keen on this patch. Their natural playstyle is calm and collected, but the current League of Legends landscape isn’t open to such a slow-moving approach. Regardless, Splyce still hold a sizeable advantage over H2K. That is, they have better players. Splyce’s roster has a ton of raw talent, and if these players don’t get overwhelmed in the laning phase, they will definitely prove themselves in the later stages of the game. Sorry, H2K, but our EU LCS Summer Split predictions aren’t in your favor.

BETTING ADVICE: You can bet on Splyce finding their first EU LCS victory for odds of 1.75 @Betway.

G2 Esports vs Fnatic

We’ll preface this by saying that this is a very volatile matchup. Both of these teams are at the top of the EU LCS 2018 standings. G2 have mastered the gold funneling tactics, and they forge their entire game plans around their solo laners. Don’t take that as a bad thing, though. Perkz and Wunder are overwhelmingly dominant in their roles, so empowering them is a great way to find success.

Fnatic EU LCS predictions

As for Fnatic, they’re also on the solo lane hype train—so much so that they’ve benched Rekkles to field Bwipo in the bot lane. Caps continues to be their ace, and they perform best while playing around the mid lane. In fact, this squad is so dominant that it routinely brute forces its way to victory. That’s going to be a tough feat to accomplish this time, though, because G2 have the raw talent to challenge them. And while Perkz can stand up to Caps, we’re not sure if Fnatic have an answer to Wunder in the top lane.

BETTING ADVICE: This is a close one! But in the end, we’re going to have to go with G2 and their unwavering solo laners. You can bet on G2 Esports squeezing out a win for odds of 1.85 @EsportsBetting.
