Team Vitality might be one of the few exceptions to this rule. Their week 7 games weren’t the most inspiring, but they still managed to put together a solid performance despite playing without their superstar mid laner. And if they go back to fielding their main roster, Vitality have the firepower and the killer instinct to take G2’s aggression head on.
G2 vs Vitality Match Breakdown
Top Lane Matchup
The G2 vs Vitality top lane will be a battle between an unstoppable force and an immovable object. With a 4.8 KDA and 8.7 CS per minute, Wunder might not stand out as much as other members of G2 Esports, but that doesn’t mean he’s weak. He exerts ridiculous amounts of pressure in the laning phase to the point where he seamlessly scores solo kills and secures monumental CS leads on his opponents. Combine that with his natural knack for splitpushing, and Wunder is an instrumental part of G2’s 1-3-1 setups.
Cabochard also plays an important role on his team. Sporting a 4.3 KDA and 8.8 CS per minute, he’s the rock-solid top laner that provides a solid foundation for Vitality to work with. His frontlining is on point, and he always finds a way to set up a great fight for his teammates. And while we’d give the edge to Wunder in the laning phase, we don’t expect Cabochard to fall too far behind in this matchup.
VERDICT: G2 Wunder finds a lead in the top lane.
Jungle Matchup
A different narrative takes place in the jungle. With a massive 7.7 KDA and 5.7 CS per minute, G2 Jankos is the carry that all junglers aspire to be. His individual skill is on point, and it’s common to see him outplaying his foes during invades and river skirmishes. But it’s his intricate pathing that elevates him to the next level and gives him such a huge edge over his opponents.
Vitality also have a formidable jungler on their side. Holding a 3.5 KDA and 4.5 CS per minute, Mowgli has the mechanics and the game sense to match Jankos on an individual level. However, he doesn’t have the best grasp of the strategic aspect of the game, so he will be a step or two behind Jankos in terms of map pressure.
VERDICT: G2 Jankos wins the jungle matchup.
Mid Lane Matchup
The mid lane is going to get hectic! Sporting a 4.9 KDA and 8.6 CS per minute, G2 Caps is a confident carry that uses a combination of razor-sharp mechanics and wild playmaking to overwhelm his opponents in lane and outside of it. He’s also one of the best clutch players in the region, so you can count on him to pull off an outplay even when the deck is stacked against him.
Jiizuke is no pushover either. With a 2.7 KDA and 8.6 CS per minute, Vitality’s ace is a daring mid laner that has a habit of going for the craziest outplays imaginable. Unfortunately, his mechanics aren’t as refined as those of Caps, so this matchup will be an uphill battle for him.
VERDICT: G2 Caps conquers the mid lane.
Bot Lane Matchup
The G2 vs Vitality bot lane will be interesting to follow. Sporting a 6.0 KDA and 9.9 CS per minute, Perkz may be the least consistent player on G2 Esports, but he’s also one of the most explosive ones. He’s assisted Mikyx (4.9 KDA), a talented support that’s always looking for ways to make a sudden roam or catch his opponents with a split-second outplay.
Vitality’s bot lane also thrives on aggression. Holding a 5.0 KDA and 10.2 CS per minute, Atilla is a capable marksman that puts a strong emphasis on lane-dominant picks and early game skirmishes. And while Jactroll (2.9 KDA) doesn’t stand out as much as his lane partner, he does a good job of assisting Atilla on a wide range of defensive supports. Still, they don’t have the skill or the game sense to stand up to their Perkz and Mikyx, so G2 take the lead in yet another matchup.

Vitality are completely outmatched here. Their players are a cut below their current opponents, and their approach to the game is a weaker version of G2’s playstyle. With that, we can’t predict anything other than a victory for G2 Esports!
