Group A
- Griffin
- G2 Esports
Not too much of a surprise here, given that G2 and Griffin are two extremely strong teams. Pitted against the likes of Cloud9, who had a shaky performance, and HKA who stood little chance from the start. GRF and C9 had a clear path to the top.
Group B
- FunPlus Phoenix
- Splyce
FunPlus were expected to advance, however, Splyce’s performance was a great surprise, even managing to take a game off FPX.
Group C
- SK Telecom T1
- Fnatic
SKT were clearly going to advance despite being in the group of death. As mentioned previously, the strongest team do not fear the tough groups, they are the ones to make it hard. However, Fnatic’s upset against both SKT and RNG propelled them to a well deserve spot in the quarterfinals.
Group D
- DAMWON Gaming
- Invictus Gaming
While it was surprising Team Liquid were unable to make it to the top two considering their strength in North America, Damwon and Invictus both have earned their place in the quarterfinals.

Quarterfinals predictions
Let’s look now at the LoL Worlds betting odds for our main predictions.
Griffin vs. Invictus Gaming
This will be one of the most interesting matches in worlds, a battle of two amazing teams, both staring teams in their regions.
Prediction: Griffin 61% | Invictus Gaming 39%
FunPlus Phoenix vs. Fnatic
FunPlus had placed in the easiest group of the main event, despite this, have continued to drop two games. Fnatic have advanced out the group of death, given them great preparation for the match to come.
Prediction: FunPlus Phoenix 45% | Fnatic 55%
SK Telecom T1 vs. Splyce
This match is simply a one-sided victory for SKT. Just look as the reaction of Splyce being matched against Faker in the quarterfinals draw.
Prediction: SK Telecom T1 88% | Splyce 12%
Damwon Gaming vs. G2 Esports
Another extremely close match, despite Damwon placing as Korea’s third seed, they have proved they are a real contender for the World Championship. G2 have also done well, coming equal first in their group by taking a game off Griffin.
Prediction: Damwon Gaming 58% | G2 Esports 42%
