These South Korean juggernauts clash in an epic best-of-five final on April 13, and each of them is fully determined to become the #1 team in the region. Find out who’s going to lift the trophy in our in-depth LCK playoffs predictions!

SKT T1 always had the potential to be an LCK powerhouse, but it’s only towards the regular season that they started living up to it. This roster holds a staggering amount of firepower, so SKT routinely overwhelm their opponents in the laning phase. That’s not to say they just brute force their way to victory. In fact, SKT are one of the smartest teams in the region, and you can always count on them to secure vision control, set up the right objectives or find the perfect spots to challenge their opponents in 5v5s.

If you were to take out the last three weeks, Griffin would seem invincible. This team thrives on aggression, and its players are renowned for their mixture of drive, creativity, and mechanical prowess. Moroever, Griffin have an uncanny level of synergy with each other that they look less like a set of five different players and more like a well-oiled League of Legends machine. And while Griffin struggled to adapt to the recent meta changes, their explosive teamfighting and split-second decision-making still make the ma force to be reckoned with.

SKT vs Griffin – LCK Match Breakdown

Top Lane Matchup

The SKT vs Griffin top lane matchup will be the key point of the series. With a 4.1 KDA and 9.0 CS per minute, SKT Khan is in his best shape yet. His aggressive, carry-oriented playstyle is a perfect fit for the current top lane meta, and it’s common to see him smash his opponents in lane and establish a strong splitpushing presence later on. On top of that, SKT seem very willing to play around him, so Khan finally has all the resources he needs.

The same can’t be said about Sword. Holding a 3.9 KDA and 8.9 CS per minute, Griffin’s top laner has been suffering from champion pool issues ever since Urgot was pushed out of the meta. Granted, he did show some promise on Jayce towards the end of the regular season, but such a high-priority top lane pick doesn’t match the Griffin style of League of Legends. To make matters worse, Sword was never a lane-dominant player in the first place, so he will have a hard time against someone as aggressive as Khan.

VERDICT: SKT Khan takes over the top lane matchup.

Jungle Matchup

Things will get wild in the jungle! Sporting a 5.4 KDA and 5.2 CS per minute, Clid is a daring jungler that turns every match he plays into a highlight reel. His razor-sharp mechanics make him the main playmaker on the SK Telecom T1 lineup, and you can count on him to find creative ways to kick-start teamfights and skirmishes.

Yet, he’s in for an uphill battle in the SKT vs Griffin matchup. With a 9.1 KDA and 5.5 CS per minute, Tarzan is a prodigy in every sense of the word, and his natural talent, intricate pathing, and calculated aggression are the pillars of Griffin’s early game. Combine that with the fact that Tarzan has one of the deepest champion pools in the league, and it’s hard to imagine him losing to any other LCK jungler.

VERDICT: GRF Tarzan conquers the jungle.

Mid Lane Matchup

This is the battle of two generations of mid laners! With a 4.0 KDA and 9.0 CS per minute, SKT Faker is a living legend that rose to prominence with clutch solo kills and impossible outplays. However, he’s not the explosive player he once used to be, and the 2019 Faker employs a calm, cool, and team-oriented playstyle of going even in lane and outmaneuvering his opponents in teamfights.

Meanwhile, Chovy is the Faker from several years ago. Sporting a 10.7 KDA and 10.9 CS per minute, Griffin’s mid laner plays with the arrogance of someone who’s fully confident in his mechanics and game sense. This makes him the clear favorite in most matchups, but Faker is one of the few players that know how to hold his own against mid lane daredevils.

VERDICT: SKT Faker finds a slight lead in the mid lane.

Bot Lane Matchup

The SKT vs Griffin bot lane might be the most exciting matchup of the series! Sporting a 7.4 KDA and 10.7 CS per minute, SKT Teddy is a force to be reckoned with. His mechanics are on point, but it’s his refined positioning and veteran game sense that make him the strongest carry threat on the SKT T1 lineup. Mata (3.9 KDA) is no pushover either. This is a cunning strategist that made a name for himself with well-timed roams and calculated initiations, and his talents will be of great use in a Bo5 series.

SKT vs Afreeca LCK Match

Griffin also have a powerful duo on their hands. With an 8.7 KDA and 10.4 CS per minute, Viper is an explosive carry with a seemingly limitless champion pool. However, the current marksman-oriented meta makes it difficult for him to showcase this versatility on the Rift, so Viper won’t be as dominant as he used to be. Fortunately, he has Lehends (8.3 KDA) to cover him. Griffin’s support saw massive improvements throughout the season, and it wouldn’t be an understatement to call him the biggest playmaker on their roster.

VERDICT: SKT Teddy and Mata find an edge in the bot lane.

SKT vs Griffin – LCK Match Prediction

Griffin are in a rough spot. Their laners are weaker than their SK Telecom T1 counterparts, and unless Tarzan takes over the jungle for five games in a row, Griffin will struggle to get something going in the early game. To make matters worse, the meta turned away from them at the worst possible moment, so we don’t see Griffin matching their foes in the late game. Our prediction is a 3-1 victory for SKT!
